Test Day Information

• You must arrive 45 MINUTES prior to your test. Latecomers will be denied entrance to the test and will NOT be eligible for a refund or transfer.
• You must bring the original, valid identification that you used to register for the test. If you do not have valid identification, you will not be allowed to take the test.
• It is recommended that you use the washroom before checking in.
• Your original, valid photo identification will be scanned.
• Your identification is the only personal belonging allowed in the test room. All other belongings are considered prohibited materials in the test room and must be stored in a personal belongings bag or locker at the test centre. All electronic devices must be switched off before being stored. Please do not bring valuables on test day. Neither Paragon Testing Enterprises nor the test centre is liable for lost or stolen items.
• You will be asked for your signature.
• You will have your picture taken. For this picture, your face must be fully visible. You will be asked to remove anything on your head unless worn for religious or medical purposes. If you refuse, you may be denied entrance to the test and will not be eligible for a refund or transfer. The picture will be printed on your score report.
• After you are checked in, you will be seated in the test room. Once you are in the test room, you may not leave your seat unescorted.

• You will be provided with a pen and notepaper, which must be returned at the end of the test.
• Your workstation will have a standard QWERTY English keyboard.
• Cellphones and other prohibited materials are not permitted in the test room.
• If you need anything during the test, such as extra notepaper or a washroom break, raise your hand. You may not communicate with other test takers in the test room or leave your seat unescorted. Your test time does not stop for any reason, including washroom breaks.
• If you need a special accommodation for your test—including accessibility equipment, beverages, or snacks in the test room—you must submit a Special Accommodations Request Form, which can be found on our Request Forms page. All special accommodations must be preapproved by Paragon Testing Enterprises.

• Report any issues that occur during your test to the test centre personnel immediately. If there was an issue that may have affected your results, you must report it to Paragon Testing Enterprises within 48 hours of your test. Test centre personnel will provide a contact card upon request. No corrective action will be taken for problems that are reported after scores have been released or more than 48 hours after the test sitting, whichever comes first.
• Your test results will be available online in your CELPIP account within eight business days of the day of your test. To receive your test results earlier, you must order Express Rating at least 24 hours before your test date.
• Your official score report will be mailed to the address you provided during registration.

Test takers are encouraged to use the washroom before entering the test room. CELPIP Tests are timed and will not pause for any reason. Test takers who wish to use the washroom during the test should raise their hand so that test centre personnel can escort them.

Children are not allowed in the test room, and test takers may not take breaks to feed or otherwise care for a child. Neither Paragon Testing Enterprises nor the test centre will accept responsibility for unsupervised children. Test takers will be refused entry if they try to leave children outside the test room unsupervised.

Please do not use perfumes, aftershaves, colognes, and other scented products on test day. These products may make other people in the room sick.

Acceptable identification for the CELPIP-General Test:

• Passport booklet
• United States Passport Card
• Refugee protection claimant document*
• Travel document*

Acceptable identification for the CELPIP-General LS Test:

• Passport booklet
• United States Passport Card
• Canadian permanent resident card
• Travel document*

If you are taking the CELPIP Test for Non-IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) purposes, the following identification is acceptable:

• Canadian Provincial identification card
• Canadian permanent resident card
• Passport booklet
• United States Passport Card
• Canadian Provincial Driver’s licence
• Refugee protection claimant document*
• Travel document**

*Expired refugee protection claimant documents must be pre-approved by our office every time you register for a test. For approval, please send a scan or picture of your expired Refugee protection claimant document by email to info@celpip.ca. Expired refugee protection claimant documents that are not pre-approved by our office may not be accepted on test day. No refunds or transfers will be given for refused entries.

**A Travel Document refers to the following documents specifically:

• Refugee Travel Document
• Certificate of Identity

The following documents are not Travel Documents and are not accepted for the CELPIP Test:

• NEXUS Card
• Work Permit
• Record of Landing
• Interim Federal Health Certificate of Eligibility

Unacceptable identification includes:

• Any expired document
• Any photocopy of a document
• Social Security card
• Social Insurance card
• Canadian health card
• Driver’s licence (allowed for non-IRCC purposes only)
• Temporary identification card
• Employee identification card
• Student identification card
• Notary-prepared letter or document
• Credit card of any type
• Firearms License

IMPORTANT:Test takers who do not provide their valid identification during check-in at the test sitting will be refused entry to the test and will not be eligible for a refund or transfer.

If you registered for the CELPIP Test with a passport booklet, we recommend that you do not send it away for any reason (i.e., extensions or visa renewals) before your scheduled test date. If you are required to do so, please send away your passport booklet after you have taken the test or before you register for the test. If you do not provide your passport booklet or the identification document that you registered with at the test sitting, you will be refused entry to the test and no refunds or transfers will be given.
